This strong growing perennial is a very striking giant grass. It is a structural plant needing plenty of room as it can grow to 8 metres in height. The leaves are broad and blue-green, arching and strap-like. Arundo prefers a sunny position. Feathery pannicles of purplish flowers are produced in late summer.This architectural plant can be used as a bold backdrop or a garden feature, creating a striking bamboo effect. A good subject to grown in a patio container.Can be cut back ater two years once established to encourage flowering.Excellent for flower arrangements.
