Carex Riparia Variegata is a fast spreading grass with linear leaves and tall stems bearing dark brown flower spikes in early summer. Growing to 1.2m high and with a spread of up to 1.5m it is ideal for larger gardens.

Like most Carex this is a versatile plant that will tolerate many soils and aspects, but if grown in sun will need regular watering. Can be grown as a marginal pond plant in Zones 1 or 2. Decying foliage can be trimmed in autumn.
