This Ligularia is prized for its foliage as well as the flowers. The attractive leaves are large and kidney-shaped, deep greenish-bronze above with maroon backs, providing interest and colour throughout the growing season. The flowers are large, shaggy, narrow petalled, deep orange daiseys, giving a striking display from mid-summer. A hardy plant that likes moist but well drained soil with a sheltered position offering some shade. Excellent for borders or to feature in a container, and a lovely pondside plant. Attractive to butterflies.
