A tall and graceful architectural plant, Miscnathus belongs to the family of grasses. 'Malepartus' is a beautiful ornamental, having fine green  foliage with a central white stripe. It grows into eye-catching clumps topped with wonderful feathery plumes of reddish brown; foliage turns reddish brown in autumn,lasting right through to spring and providing interest and movement in winter. Likes a moist, sunny position with deep, rich compost. Can be used to feature in patio pot and will not need winter protection. Cut off old growth in spring when new shoots start to appear.
