The striking flower heads of the Coneflower are attractive to butterflies and bees. Purple daisey-like petals surround a central disk. A deciduous, clump forming plant, it prefers a position in full sun. Soil should be humus-rich and well drained. Flowering from spring through summer. Drought tolerant. Useful for cut flowers. Height 120 to 150 cm. Seed heads can be left to provide winter food for birds.
