Latin Name: Plantain Lily

A beautiful variety of hosta, ‘Albopicta’ has lance shaped leaves, bright yellow with green margins in spring fading to all green in summer. The trumpet shaped, mauve flowers appear from mid to late summer. Hostas are prized for their lush attractive foliage; strong waxy leaves provide great ground cover and contrast well with other plants. An ideal plant to grow in drifts along a shaded border. Hostas make excellent subjects for container growing, forming striking clumps. They prefer some shade and rich, moist but well drained soil. Propagate by division in early spring. Surround plants with a good layer of coarse grit each spring to protect them from slugs. Height 45 to 55 cm.
