This heartleaf Begonia has showy red flowers in spring, an early flowering plant to bring a splash of colour to the garden. The evergreen leaves are round and leathery with wavy edges. Foliage in spring and summer is green tinged with pink at the edges, turning to red in autumn. It has a bushy, clump forming habit, height 45 to 50 cm. Prefers fertile soil in dappled shade, but will grow in full shade or half sun. Water regularly. Can be cut back in late winter to keep the plants bushy.
