This moisture loving 'drumstick' primula has round heads of striking violet-purple flowers. Flowers are produced from June to August. Originates from the Himalayas. Primulas look stunning planted in large patches. Foliage is a low rosette of powdery grey-green leaves. Requires moist soil in part sun. Ideal for dappled shade under trees. Height to 25 cm. Best grown in rich compost with plenty of leafmould. Plant in the garden or grow as a feature in a container. Hardy, clump forming perennial.
