This American water iris graces the pond margins with rich blue flowers borne on purple stems. Broad green foliage grows into attractive clumps, leaves and flowers leaning out over the water for lovely reflections. The tall emergent leaves are useful to pond insects such as emerging dragonflies. Plant in a large container using aquatic soil and covering with pea gravel. Trim decaying foliage in autumn.
