A useful plant for binding banks and providing nesting cover for waterfowl. Golden-green variegated foliage gives a very pleasing effect. Plant in sun or part shade. This is an ornamental form of the Norfolk Reed, a plant used for thatching and an excellent filtration plant used to remove pollutants from the water. This variegated form has leaves attractively striped in gold and green. Forms lovely clumps growing to one to two metres in height; the leaves catching the sunlight and rustling in the breeze, adding sound and movement to the water garden.
