An excellent choice for pondside planting, Primula pulverulenta is a candelabra variety, having successive whorls of rich crimson flowers borne on tall, mealy stems. It provides a marvellous show of flowers through May. Height to 100 cm. Primulas are suited to damp shady areas, looking lovely planted by water, or any moist, partly shaded situation in the garden. Plant in clumps or drifts for best effect. Self seeded young plants can be transplanted in spring.
