A tall, graceful rush with stems striped vertically in green and white, growing to 90-150 cm in height. This scirpus grows into attractive clumps, the unusual foliage colour adding interest to the pond throughout the growing season. Can be planted in water depth of up to 40 cm. The tall emergent leaves are useful to pond insects such as emerging dragonflies. Plant in a large container using aquatic soil and covering with pea gravel. Trim decaying foliage in late autumn.
